Karen Hughes, APRN-CNP received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at Capital University. She also received her PhD in Nursing Education at Capella University and Post Masters FNP at Otterbein University. Karen is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her special interests include care of the geriatric patient with diverse and often multiple healthcare needs. Karen has a strong background and passion in diabetes care and kidney disease management. She feels preventative care is key for health and well-being across the lifespan. Other background includes cardiac, pulmonary and gastrointestinal disorders.
